My Life in Bologna, Italy

My bird's eye view of one of my former homes...Bologna, Italy
I haven't been cooking anything new and exciting since my trainer has me on this boring diet plan, sooooo, here's a post to reminisce about my favorite food out there that I'm not allowed to eat - Italian! Imagine my surprise when flipping through the May 2011 issue of Bon Appetit and there was a story on the Emilia-Romagna region of Northern Italy and its delicious and world renowned food. The story immediately took me to a happy place as I reminisced about my fabulous adventures and oh so great time living in Bologna, Italy 2004-2005! So here's a few shots of my life in Bologna - which consisted of traveling, eating, drinking and eating more!

This is the city center square - I spent a lot of time here people watching, pretending to be Italian and eating gelato!
A view of Bologna after a snow storm - I don't remember where I was when I took this!
A butcher shop! mmmm  prosciutto!

Fresh pasta, cheeses, balsamic vinegar, and olives...a few great Italian classics

Martini & Rossi is an Italian alcoholic beverage company so we drank a lot of their vermouth...at one place in particular....a former cathedral that was converted to a bar. Say what?

Another beverage we drank a lot during the winter...
Gluhwein, a popular German drink of warmed red wine, fruit and spices!
Back then I was not a photographer of food but I wish I was because I had countless meals that were photograph worthy. Guess I'll have to move back to Italy so I can take some proper pictures!
